01nt Backwater + 07nts Cycling Tour + 06nts Beach

Day 01 : Trivandrum / Alleppey : On arrival, you will be met at Airport and transferred by road to Hotel. After check-in you are free for independent activities Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2: Munnar/ Suryanelli. We will pick you up & drive you to Munnar at over 1600 m. After a quick visit to the Tea Museum , we will take a ride through the famed tea gardens at Munnar through the Grahamsland Estate, through the old headquarters of the administration at Devikulam. Legend has it that Sita, holy consort of Lord Rama., came down to frolic in the lake called 'Devikulam' (meaning the lake of the goddess), ever since. Then we bike through the daunting mountain pass “ Lockhart Gap”. Enjoy the spectacular view of the ‘Bison Valley’ at the Lockhart Gap, the place was earlier quite abundant with Gaurs mistakenly called Bison. Also evidently the land of the Elephants skirt around the Anaerangal Lake (the lake where the Elephants descent).We will arrive at Suryanelli, where we will stay in comfortable cottage tents.

Terrain: Mountainous through tea gardens

Day 3: Vandanmedu. We will be up early & cycle through tough mountain roads to Vandanmedu where we will reach by evening. The route is once again, nothing short of spectacular with tea gardens, cardamom plantations and lakes en-route. The countryside we pass is remote and nestled among the famed cardamom Hills of Kerala - the source of spices for centuries.Interestingly the remote little town of Vandanmedu is the world's largest cardamom auction center in the world. Enjoy the horizon overlooking the beautiful tea and cardamom estates all along the route. We will check into the Carmelia Haven.

Day 4 & 5: Periyar. Our destination today is the morning ride to Periyar. Periyar has been patronized by the Royal families in the past as the ideal holiday getaway. We will reach the Forest Eco Lodge – The Bamboo Grove just after lunchtime where we can relax our legs or take off into the jungle. Periyar is one of the best wildlife reserves in India and has large herds of Asiatic elephants roaming free, Indian Bison as well as tigers. The Periyar lake forms the nucleus of the reserve.  We have the next two days to see a little of the tribal population and their lifestyles.  Mannans are among the oldest indigenous group of people to inhabit Periyar Tiger Reserve.Till as late as 1940’s, they used to live in the remotest areas of the tiger reserve eking out a simple living by fishing in the lake and cultivating a few crops. Today they are the main conservators of the forest, enjoy your walk and talk with them through the forest as you discover the endemic flora and fauna of the region.

Terrain: Mountainous, spice villages, and forests

Day 6: Vagamon. Vagamon town set against the rolling grasslands of the Western Ghats and the cycling route passes through spectacular sights of the tea gardens interspersed with pristine forests that have made this place so beautiful. This interesting town is said to be ‘curious blend of religious mysticism and European legacies’ and the biking trip here will let you immerse yourself in its tranquility. We will settle down at a resort overlooking the three hills - Thangal hill, Murugan hill and Kurisumala.

Terrain: Undulating & Mountainous

Day 7: Kottayam. Today we revel in cycling downhill through the foothills of the Western Ghats, the ‘rubber’ country of Palai and on to Kottayam,where we settle into an Ayurvedic Spa. This is a perfect place to take in a Kerala Ayurvedic massage to relax.In the evening we can enjoy Kalari, a demonstration of ancient combat performed by the local youngsters.  

Distance: 60 kms, Max Height: 3365', Min Height: 0'
Terrain: Downhill & plains  

Day 8: Aboard a Rice Boat.  Finally we will ride along the narrow backwater roads to reach Alleppey where on this final day we will embark the riceboats to relax while cruising along the  beautiful backwaters.



Day 09 : Alleppey / Kovalam : After breakfast in the House boat, you will be transferred by road to Kovalam, and on arrival check in at Hotel. After check-in you are free for independent activities. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 09-14 :At Kovalam.

Day 15 : Kovalam / Trivandrum : After breakfast you will be transferred to airport 02 Hrs before the departure of your on ward journey.

End of the tour.
